Responsibilities
The Civil Division of the Greene County Prosecutor's Office acts as the County's law firm. The Greene County Prosecuting Attorney, through his civil division, is the legal advisor of the board of county commissioners, board of elections, public library, park district, all other elected and appointed county officers, boards and employees, as well as all 12 townships within Greene County.
The Civil Division represents the interests of its clients in state and federal court, as well as in a variety of administrative settings. This division provides its clients with additional legal services in the areas of contract review and enforcement, real property sale and/or purchase, zoning and land use planning, employment and tax, as well as a myriad of other legal issues that arise. In addition, the Civil Division renders written legal opinions upon client request.
