NOVEMBER 2020 - NEW CCW OFFICE HOURS:
Effective November 25, 2020 the CCW office will be
CLOSED on Wednesday's.
UPDATE to COVID-19 changes for CCW Permits: With the recent passage and Governors signing of HB-614, the Greene County Sheriff's Office will incorporate changes into our local CCW application process. Our office will continue to keep walk in hours (no appointment necessary) for ALL Ohio residents Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Closed Wednesdays. Fridays will now be set aside for Greene County residents only from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Finger Print Cards continue to be SUSPENDED. We are still processing BCI/FBI Web checks.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office processes Concealed Carry Original and Renewal Applications Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for all counties in Ohio between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm and on Friday for Greene County Residents only between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm, excluding legal holidays. The CCW Office is closed on Wednesdays. If you have any questions, please contact (937) 562-5220.

Original and renewal applications are processed Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm, excluding legal holidays. The applicant must bring the following items at the time of submitting an application:

Ohio Concealed Handgun License Information
With regard to the State of Ohio Application for License to Carry a Concealed Handgun, it is the intention of the Ohio Legislature that this law (RC 2923.125) is compliant with the National Instant Criminal Background check system. This system of checks contains disqualifiers not specifically enumerated in Section III and/or IV of the license Application.

Original CCW and Renewal Application Checklist
Original CCW License
- Copy of Training Certificate
- Certificate must be within 3 years of taking 8 hour competency certification training course
- Active and Reserve Military - must bring your most recent firearms qualification or CCW Training Certificate along with your active military ID.
- Veterans - must bring DD214 with honorable discharge
- Current Color Photograph
- Must be a 2 x 2 passport photo and taken within 30 days of making application
- Current Photo Identification
- Driver's license or State ID card
- Self-addressed stamped envelope - this is how you will receive your permit.
- Non-refundable fee
- Money Order or Cashier's Check made payable to the Greene County Sheriff's Office. We also accept Credit/Debit Cards (service fee $1 + 2.2% applies).
- No Cash or Personal Checks will be accepted.
- $67 - Ohio resident for the last 5 consecutive years
- $77 - Ohio resident for less than 5 years
- Application fee will be waived for veterans, active and reserve military pursuant to Senate Bill 81.
Renewal CCW License
- Completed Renewal Application Form
- Current Color Photograph (ONLY if initial or renewal applications have NOT been made through Greene County Sheriff's Office.)
- Must be a 2 x 2 passport photo and taken within 30 days of submitting application
- Previous CCW License
- Military personnel will also be asked to provide proper documentation to be eligible for fee waiver
- Active and Reserve Military must bring most recent firearms qualification and active military ID
- Veterans must bring DD214 with honorable discharge
- Military personnel will also be asked to provide proper documentation to be eligible for fee waiver
- Current Photo Identification
- Driver's license or State ID card
- Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope - this is how you will receive your permit.
